With the current year coming to a close and a new one quickly approaching, what better time than now is there to create a fun calendar for the new year? It can be as colorful and complex or as simple and plain as you'd like!
What you'll need:
A large picture frame with glass - I used one from Wal-mart that was 10x13"
Some sort of background - fabric, paper, etc.
Paint swatches - I grabbed a handful of colors from Wal-mart's paint section
Scissors
Glue
Dry Erase Marker
Without further ado, let's get started!
Attach your background to the cardboard or backing from the frame. I just used black paper for mine, since I wanted the colors of the paint swatches to stand out more.
You'll need to measure and figure out how big you want each paint swatch and how you'll arrange them before gluing everything down. I ended up cutting my pieces at an inch and a half by two inches. I arranged and rearranged a lot before choosing the final layout.
Write anything that will not be erased on your paint chips. I have access to a Cricut Maker in the Wyrkshop, so I cut out the days of the week and letters of the word "month" from vinyl and stuck that to my paint chips.
Reassemble your picture frame.
With your dry erase marker, you can now draw directly on the glass of the picture frame and wipe it off with ease when you're done! You've got a calendar that will last a while and can be hung anywhere there's wall space or displayed anywhere there's counter space!
What type of colors did you lean toward with your calendar? I know I used more pastel colors, but it could be equally as pretty with a more monochromatic scheme. Did you choose something to match a preexisting color scheme in your home, or did you want something completely different and off-the-wall? I would love to see your recreations!
