As we're nearing the holiday season, it's time to start thinking about gifts! As a college student, I don't have wrapping paper with me. So, when it comes time to wrap gifts for birthdays or Christmas, I need to think outside the box. That's where this idea comes into play! It's super easy and can be customizable for anyone!
My brother's birthday was last weekend and I ran into the problem of not having gift wrap. I didn't want to go out and buy any since I had such a small package. I used only a few items and made my own. It was super easy and super fun!
What you'll need:
Paper (plain, butcher, etc.)
Pencil
Sharpie
Ruler
Instructions:
Wrap your gift! I was lucky that the gift I had gotten for my brother was already in a box, so I didn't have to worry about any funky shapes with wrapping. I also didn't have any paper other than printer paper, so I used the inside of a Trader Joe's paper bag.
Draw your design! I started with guidelines using a ruler and pencil, then worked on a design from there. For my designs, I just puttered around on Pinterest until I found some that I liked and tried to recreate them.
In total, the whole process of wrapping and decorating the paper took about 15 minutes. I didn't cover the paper with the design, but I still think it turned out really well. I'd love to see what you've come up with for designs! What color markers did you use? What type of paper did you choose?
