SawStop Contractor Table Saw

OVERVIEW

The SawStop 36" Contractor Table Saw is a standard table saw used for rip cutting. It features a miter gauge and several shop-built jigs to make large projects easier to wrangle. The SawStop also has an advanced safety feature to prevent carpenters from injuring themselves while working, where the saw will throw the blade below the table as soon as it detects skin in contact with the blade. The blade itself carries a small electrical signal, which the safety system continually monitors. When skin contacts the blade, the signal changes because the human body is conductive. The change to the signal activates the safety system.

WOOD107: Advanced Bench Saws

A table saw is a very versatile woodworking tool, and one of the most popular among woodworkers. Table saws cut straighter lines and can make smoother cuts on smaller and longer boards. DIY projects that require a table saw usually require a more precise cut than handheld or machine saws. Serious woodworkers and crafters alike can use this tool for any number of projects, so we consider the table saw one of the most useful tools in the shop.

WRK107 will equip you with the tools to operate our advanced bench saws, such as the SawStop, safely and effectively. You'll get a refresher on how to use bench saws, as well as explanations and examples of operational and safety tips for using a table saw in our woodshops.
